What we love about this home:

We have lived at 135 Barkly Street for almost nine years.

The house was different from what it is today. From the front garden right through to the extension at the rear of the property we have stamped our mark whilst still retaining the beautiful features of a Victorian terrace.

We have opened up the front rooms allowing a flow through to the north facing back living space which enjoys warm winter sun and great in the summer when we can open the floor to ceiling doors to the courtyard.

The private courtyard is great for entertaining as it connects to the living space and kitchen area. We have created a kitchen that is very functional with plenty of storage.

We are walking distance to restaurants on both Lygon Street and Sydney Road as well as a short tram ride to Carlton and then onto the CBD. Rathdowne Street is also a short walk. We will miss our walks to Princes Park.

Our neighbours have been fantastic without being intrusive. It has been great when we are away; they are all so willing to check up on things for us.
