What we love about this home:

We purchased this property 12 years ago as we really saw the potential for refurbishment of a beautiful period home in need of some love and care. We saw in Murphy Grove a lovely family home in in a fantastic location, great land size with a generous deep rear garden. The property also contained a one-bedroom bungalow that had generous proportions and lots of potential.

We have loved updating the original home and have enjoyed the period features, especially the ornate ceilings, leadlight windows and large light filled rooms. We have also created a very sustainable and energy efficient home. All internal walls, ceiling and under floors are fully insulated, all appliances and lights are energy efficient. Combined with the rooftop solar system we have not paid a power bill for many years!!  By making these energy efficient improvements we have sustainably updated a period home with modern convenience and aesthetic.

What we love about this suburb:

Preston is a great place to live. The suburb has many immediate amenities and CBD is within easy reach.  The Preston Market, High Street shopping Strip, parks and cafes all make this a great area to live. Murphy Grove is a quiet, tree-lined street, and the Sylvester Hive community garden is a great way to connect with the local neighbourhood. The tram into the city is close by, with trains and buses only a short walk way.
