Renovated with distinction, secluded garden oasis
Owners Notes
What we love about our home:
We absolutely adore our 1920’s Californian bungalow that we have renovated with love.
Our home is spacious, warm and flooded with natural light. There is abundant storage space, beautiful timber wardrobes, bay window seats with drawers, wooden shutters, two mosaic bathrooms, Daikin heating and cooling in every room. The house has many livings zones, both indoors and out. We have loved telling our children stories in the reading room, lounging on the bay window seats, playing music in our formal lounge and hanging out in our tropical garden oasis.
This house is full of surprises with its secret reading room, the tucked away marble-mosaic tiled en-suite, the hidden laundry and the spectacular light fittings that we sourced from an old ballroom.
Our lush back yard has been our private tropical getaway. An outdoor bath and shower is fun for children and adults alike. We love entertaining under the trees on a balmy summer night. The studio is perfect for a kid’s play room and doubles as a guest room. The workshop has been great for extra storage and a place for creativity and fun.
What we love about the suburb
The best of Coburg: the village shops, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, public transport, access to Citylink, the Merri Creek, Coburg Lake and parklands are all so close by. The Deli, Trevelli, Zaatar, Half Moon Cafe are some of our favourite locals. The fish shops at the Coburg market, the organic butcher on Victoria Street and the fresh produce at the Saturday Farmer’s market are the best. To us, Coburg represents quality and value for money.
Why are we selling:
We are moving to be closer to our children’s school.
Other information:
57 Railway Place has been a sanctuary for us with many treasured memories. It has been a labour of love and a happy home. We are certain that its new owners will enjoy it as much as we did.
