Period elegance meets Japanese modernism: an inspired renovation

This historic 3/4BR Georgian terrace (ca 1855), expertly renovated by Grant Amon Architects, offers a versatile floor plan ideal for work-from-home living, moments from Brunswick Street and the Carlton Gardens. Including a garage, upper-level studio/office, 3rd bathroom and powder room (separate laneway access), the residence has been extended with a Japanese design aesthetic to create light-filled living spaces and seamless flows to a tranquil courtyard garden. It incorporates a vast main bedroom with marble open fireplace plus two further double bedrooms and a sitting room/4th BR; spacious living room; well-equipped kitchen (silky oak cabinetry) stepping down to a dining area with bespoke seating; two striking bathrooms and euro laundry. Including upper level balconies, this discreet and peaceful home features polished timber floors, craftsman-built storage and hydronic heating.

Buyer Review

Cheers Charlie

Charlie did a lot of work with us, trying to find the right house. We weren't always 100% sure of what we wanted all the time, so Charlie showed a lot of patience and tenacity sticking with us! We really liked Charlie, he was friendly, warm, unpresumptuous. He kept us abreast of new properties, was quick to respond to communications and was aways happy to tee up extra inspections. We're very happy with the property we bought last weekend. In the end it was a spur of the moment type thing but I feel we really lucked out and that's partially because of the amount of properties we saw and the insight we gained into the property market which, in no small part, was thanks to Charlie and Nelson Alexander.
