Melbourne Music Week comes to town

In an October 7 media release, the City of Melbourne announced the annual Melbourne Music Week for 2015. It’s a thriving festival over one week in November, where film screenings, workshops, panels and of course concerts take place all around our great city.

This year, the Former Royal Women’s Hospital in Carlton will be the flagship venue for the festival, which promises a great series of activities right on the doorstep of people living in the area. And as Chair of Marketing, Councillor Beverley Pinder-Mortimer noted, it has wide-ranging benefits.

“Melbourne Music Week is a great celebration of music in our city and a boon to not only the local music industry but also to our local businesses,” she stated. In fact, last year’s event managed to generate $3.4 million in revenue for local businesses!

Between Carlton Gardens, Princes Park, Melbourne Museum and this upcoming festival, there’s something for everyone in the area.
