People in the City of Yarra more satisfied than ever before
If you’re looking through suburbs trying to figure out where to live in Melbourne, you’ll want to know how enjoyable it is to live in an area. Furthermore, you’ll want to hear it from the residents themselves.
How content people are living in a district has a lot to do with decisions made from the top. After all, how well the region is managed, problems are solved and developments are handled rests largely on the city council.
With this in mind, it seems that people living in Fitzroy real estate and other Yarra suburbs seem to be pretty happy with their local government.
A November 25 release by the Yarra City Council shows that the level of satisfaction of its residents improved by 5.5 per cent in 2015. The score was 7.15, the highest ever recorded for the City of Yarra since testing began in 2009.
This figure was measured from responses collected by the Annual Customer Satisfaction Survey. More than 800 residents across 10 suburbs participated and voiced their thoughts on the Yarra council, which was then collected by Metropolis Research, an independent company.

Let’s take a look at where the Yarra council performed admirably.
Out of eight ‘customer service’ categories, seven received an overall rating of ‘excellent’. Furthermore, overall community consultation and engagement was categorised as ‘good’.
To be more specific, being responsive to the needs of the community and making decisions in its interest were strong points outlined by locals. Also, fairly representing and advocating on behalf of its people, as well as maintaining their trust were other traits of the council that received stunning feedback.
Interestingly, respondents from Fitzroy North had a notably high level of satisfaction, which again shows that it could be a neighbourhood worth looking into.
Satisfaction with local housing and development also increased in Yarra.
