When we bought our house in Wellington Street we planned to live here for 10 years. We’ve loved living here so much, the 10 years has now stretched to 17.

The things we really love about the house:

  • The sense of space and light throughout.
  • The special touches such as the double showers, the electric charcoal grill in the kitchen and the gas log fire in the lounge.
  • The home office that has easily catered to both of us.
  • The house is great for entertaining - we’ve had intimate dinners, sit-down lunches with 20 people, and we’ve comfortably had over 30 people for parties.
  • The garage which accommodates 2 cars side by side or can double as a garage for one and fabulous workshop area or storage space.
  • Our kids have loved staying here - they have their own en suite with spa bath!
  • The fabulous views to the city in the south (and the fireworks on NYE and hot air balloons in the early morning), across the rooftops to the shot tower and church spire in the north, and over to the west.
  • We can walk to so many great cafes and restaurants and there are a couple of really good bakeries within a 10 minute walk.
  • It’s a 15 minute walk to the Yarra River, where it’s hard to believe you’re not in the bush. There are a number of other great parks within easy walking distance and of course the iconic Fitzroy Pool and Collingwood Leisure Centre
  • Public transport is fabulous - the train, the trams and buses are so easily accessible. The CBD is 30 minutes by foot.
  • Last but not least, we have great neighbours – interesting, friendly, and helpful.
