Owners Notes

We’ve found living in Unit 5, 36 Power St to be a perfect base to access everything the Inner East has to offer. We have loved being part of a fabulous active community and the proximity to local shops, cafes, bars, freeways, and multiple public transport options direct to the city.

The apartment itself as you will see is really spacious with large windows and plenty of north light flooding all the rooms.  This apartment is also the only one in the block with an east facing window.  We love sitting on the balcony cooking a BBQ or having breakfast and a coffee in the sun on the weekend. Also when you are cooking in the kitchen, your friends can be sitting at the bench chatting with a glass of wine. In the evenings everything becomes very quiet with thick double brick throughout and luxurious carpet. Both bedrooms are separated by multiple walls so neighborhood noise is not an issue, unlike many recently built apartments.

The apartment building is occupied by a great group of friendly residents who we will be sad to say goodbye to. We have been very active as a group to improve the value, appearance and up-keep of the common areas over the last few years as you can see by the recent landscaping and new front fence just completed. Off street parking via the laneway is secure and private, and parking on Power St (for visitors) is unrestricted.

The proximity to local amenities and shops is really what we love here. We can highly recommend coffee shops such as; Axil on Burwood Road, Sardi on Church Street, or Fonda on Glenferrie Road for a healthy little snack after a swim at the newly renovated Hawthorn Leisure Centre. All are within walking distance and that is just listing a few of our favourites. Gibson’s Wine Bar at the end of Elgin St is a well-kept local secret and again just 5 minutes walk. Being on the border of Richmond also provides quick access to a variety of Melbourne’s best restaurants and bars. The Yarra River and trails are also just a short walk/run away and a favourite location to go running or cycling.

Within 5 minutes by car you are on the Eastern Freeway to the north; 5 minutes to the south and you are on the Monash; and less than 10 minutes-walk away are multiple train, tram and bus options direct to the city.

We’re sad to be leaving Unit 5 (after 6 years). It’s time for a change of scenery but I will keep the friends I have made for many more years. We’ve loved every minute of living here, and it makes us happy to know that this apartment will be lived in to the full in the future!
