Owners Notes

What we love about this home:

We worked on creating a space which suited us a young couple and something which would accommodate our plans to start a family. This has been a spectacular house to live in for many reasons. We not only preserved the charm of a period style home but also combined this with the comforts of modern day living. The open plan living is a functional space which has been the hub of everyday living and entertaining. The pitched ceilings and double French doors in the living area give a lovely feeling of openness and allows for natural light to filter in. The generous sized kitchen and granite bench has been a wonderful space for casual entertaining and dining. Each of the bedrooms are large in size which has allowed us to alter and change the configuration to suit our needs, from having either two single beds or a double bed. The focal point of the master bedroom is the stunning bay window which is a lovely place to sit and soak up the morning sun whilst reading. Storage has never been an issue with the ceiling to floor wardrobes/cupboards in three of the bedrooms and the laundry. Creating the bathroom was one of our favourite projects. We tirelessly searched for suitable claw feet and exposed pipe taps to add the finishing touches to this restored cast iron bathtub which is a magnificent and eye catching addition to the bathroom.

What we love about Fairfield

What’s not to love?! Fairfield is tightly held for obvious reasons. There is a warm community feel and everything you could possibly need is within walking distance (supermarket, butcher, fruit shop, bank, post office, etc). Having the train station in close proximity has been a service we’ve used not only for work purposes but also during footy season, shopping trips into the city or nights at the theatre. Our children are fortunate enough to be able to scoot, walk or ride to kinder and school. There are wonderful parklands, bike tracks and opportunities to feed the ducks and enjoy freshly baked scones at the Fairfield Boathouse. Having a fantastic range of cafes and restaurants (Station St & High St) so close to home is something we have thoroughly enjoyed and made the most of.

Why are we selling:

We are so sad to leave this wonderful home. It has been a home where many beautiful memories have been created. We have loved and cared for this house for the entire 14 years that we have been here. We are selling simply to accommodate the needs of our family, where we now require a larger home.
