Owners Notes
What we love about this home:
We found it to be a most flexible floor plan easily modified, easy to upgrade and maintain and provided us with an opportunity to experiment with various garden plantings.
What we love about Preston:
It is in a quiet pocket of Preston with low traffic volume and a wonderful view over Merri Creek. The green space around the creek provided an ideal playground for our children and a meeting pace for their activities. It is close to Number 1 and No112 tram lines for travel to the city and cross city bus lines of Bell street. The location was extremely convenient to Tullamarine airport with travel times of 20 minutes or so in non peak times.
It is now located close to the small shopping strip in Miller street providing today’s modern café scene.
Why we are selling:
The home has been a wonderful part of our lives. While we have thoroughly enjoyed developing both the house and garden to today’s standard it has served its purpose for those years when children are a living part of your home. We are at an age where it has become too large and we believe the next stage of our life together can best be met with a new challenge, one that involves developing a new home for the later years of our life and which we can do whilst we are still able.
Any other information:
Approximately 3 hours a week will keep the garden beds maintained ie. sweeping, watering, pruning etc.
6 Willow Street, Preston has a recycling watering system. Water can be collected from the washing machine and shower and pumped onto the front garden via a submersible pump located under the front bedroom. This pump operates automatically. This grey water if required can be redirected to sewer via a valve. It is recommended that for health of the garden that Planet Earth (organic) type products be used if water is diverted to front garden.
All rain water from the main roof is also directed to two large bladder tanks located under the front deck and lounge room floor. Any excess water once bladders are full is diverted via the pump to the front garden.
