Owners Notes

For us, Edward Street has lived up to its reputation as one of East Brunswick’s finest streets.  Our section of Edward Street between Lygon & John Streets is quiet, leafy and wide with very little vehicle traffic.  Many of the residents have lived here for many years, although in recent times young families have begun to move in to the area, no doubt attracted by the fabulous primary schools and zoning for Princes Hill Secondary College. The Edward Street community is very friendly and people walking the along the street often stop and chat. We are sad to leave but decided to retire to live in Western Victoria as our children are married and in their own homes.

The layout of our home has been fantastic as there are two large living areas at opposite ends of the house which family & friends enjoy separately or together.  The large rear living area opens out via two sets of double French doors to a peaceful paved garden which is shaded in summer by a canopy of mature trees. We have enjoyed many hours of outdoor entertaining there.

The large bedrooms provide spacious retreats. Most recently, we have used one bedroom as a study and have enjoyed the light through the large windows and the outlook over tree tops. The downstairs bedroom with its own bathroom has been great for house guests. We have enjoyed the versatility of the layout of our house which has accommodated our changing needs.

We have added split system air conditioning systems to the central heating so our home is cool in summer and very cosy in winter!

The position of our home has been fantastic with a short commute with choice of trams to the city, and, Melbourne and RMIT Universities. We walk to the Barkly Square shopping centre and enjoy the many bars and cafes at either end of our street in Lygon Street or Nicholson Village. Sunday brunch and a walk to Royal Park along the bicycle route have been favourite activities.

We have been very lucky to have lived in a quiet street in the thriving Brunswick East community with work, study, public transport, sporting ovals and parks, entertainment and shopping right on our doorstep. We will definitely miss it all!
