What we love about this home:

We have made this place our home for 12 years, and still love it. A classic 1950’s postwar home, we have modernised it over the years so it has all the expected comforts – heating, cooling, two toilets, walk-in and built-in robes, storage and an attic – while still retaining its charm as a red-brick clinker with original floorboards.

We spend our time in the summer in the private north-facing garden, accessed from the living room. The deck is sheltered from the sun by a gorgeous mature variegated maple tree, which also allows the sun to warm the house in winter. During the winter months we move the bbq out the back to our “winter garden”, a low-maintenance, landscaped area which can be accessed directly from the rear lounge which is kept toasty warm by a wood burning fireplace.

What we love about this suburb:
When we were looking for our first house we fell in love with the trees and hills of Rosanna. With a young family we were spoilt for choice with Rosanna Parklands, 4 playgrounds within a 10min walk, the Rosanna Library, Golf Links Primary and Interlaken Kindergarten around the corner, and as the suburb has gentrified over the years we have enjoyed its cool cafes and boutique shops.

There is a bus stop directly across from the house on Finlayson St, and the train station is an easy 12min walk. The airport is only 25mins drive, and weekend escapes to the Yarra Valley are just a stone’s throw.

Why we are selling:

This area is too good to leave so we’re staying local! We will miss this house, and would not leave had we not found our next dream home which will better allow us to accommodate long term visits from family overseas.
