What we love about this home:
I love the tranquility and privacy of the courtyard that is enhanced by the gentle sounds of water on the copper wall. Many native birds including Pardolats, Willy Wag Tails, Butcher Birds and the occasional Kookaburra frequent the yard.
As the courtyard is private blinds can remain open so that the fernery blends into the living area and light can stream through the home. In the evening the garden and water wall are lit up reminding me of my favourite Thai resort.
The block of units is very peaceful and I have been lucky over the past 17 years to have wonderful neighbours.
The home is only a few minutes walk to the Darebin Parklands and the Darebin Creek Trail that extends down to Fairfield and up to Bundoora Park. A perfect track for a bike ride, dog walk, jog or just a leisurely walk.
What we love about this suburb:
Preston has an abundance of cafes and restaurants from the various Asian ones in High Street to the many new and exciting places opening up along Plenty Road only 5-10 minutes from this home.
Northland, which is walking distance, has grown and has many specialty shops, restaurants and movies theatres.
A short drive further is the Preston Market, a fabulous place for fresh food and produce.
There is plenty of public transport available and you can be in the city in under 30 minutes.
I love the diversity of Preston and its multicultural population.
