Owners Notes
What we love about this home:
25 Horne Street has been first and foremost a happy family home. It has comfortably accommodated four growing teenager children, transitioning them to successful, talented, creative adults. It has also been the home to students and friends from interstate and overseas. All who have lived here have loved the warmth and community the home has provided.
What we love about this suburb:
Brunswick was our first choice. It gave us access to Princes Hill Primary and Secondary Schools as well as easy access to VCA and NMIT. It is the perfect springboard for our children to venture into the city as well as be part of the cosmopolitan Brunswick. The community is diverse and creative – very attractive to our family and our passions. Horne Street is a quiet street – some families have lived here for three generations – neighbourhood support has been key to our happiness.
Why we are selling:
I have re partnered and am remarrying and am selling my home to create a new life. My children have ventured far from Melbourne (Western and Central Australia) and their time at Horne Street is limited to holidays only. Horne Street has been my home and my haven and my gift to the countless young people who have come and visited and spring boarded into Melbourne life.
Any other information:
The house was a deceased estate when we bought it, rundown and needing warmth and love. Over the past twelve years, we have transformed the home inside and out. The garden has been a joy to work in. I have planted fruiting trees – apple, apricot, olives, citrus, plum, cherry, pomegranate, bay as well as the old, abundant lemon tree. The vegie garden has been prolific and the garden blooms with natives – florals and shrubs. There are also grasses, perennials, bulbs, passionfruit, feijoa and grape vines.
A cook’s garden it is!
