For the past nine years I’ve been privileged to call this beautiful building home. This place has provided me with the amazing opportunity to live in the heart of a buzzing vibrant creative community here in Brunswick and have my own street presence by running aHa Studio in the shopfront.

It has been a brilliant space and we have hosted numerous exhibitions, workshops and events. The walls vibrate with happy memories and the positive energy generated by all of these creative gatherings.

Having four bedrooms enabled me to provide a stable home for my son while he completed his secondary education at the local Brunswick Secondary College where he could easily walk or ride to every day. Likewise, when he moved on to University at RMIT it was still an easy cycle.

Over the years I’ve also hosted many guests in the spare bedrooms as the location has been convenient and welcoming particularly for international students and academics from Melbourne University which is a short tram ride or pleasant walk along Princes Park from here. I have met adorable and interesting people from around the world, and made lasting friendships whilst hosting.

This house has supported my own health and happiness with all the lifestyle benefits of being able to walk out my front door and have a coffee, run around or picnic in the local parklands, go for a swim at the Brunswick Baths, meet friends for dinner at a restaurant or drinks at one of the local pubs, buy beautiful fresh vegetables at the local markets, cycle to work in the city, and jump on a tram, train or bus with ease.

My neighbours both live in their homes with their families, and rent out their shops as an extra income source, so I imagine that could be a possibility for the new owners here as well.

It’s time for a new chapter for me, and I’m trusting that someone else will fall in love with this historic, stylish and solid iconic Art Deco building, and make it your own place to realise a wonderful dream. Just imagine!
