Owners Notes
What we love about this home:
We love the general feel of our home – natural light, being able to merge living spaces yet can retreat to distinct areas if we wanted to, the natural materials and stonework, never feeling like your couped up inside – being at one with all the nature surrounding our home.
We can walk 400 meters one way to experience true country living, horse stables and kangaroos and walk 400 metres the other direction and be shopping or dining in the bustling Burgundy Street precinct.
Having extended family and friends, we love that we have been able to easily host and celebrate all our family milestones (18th, 21st, 40th, etc.) in our home.
Easy to maintain with many automated features.
Ample Cupboard and Storage spaces.
What we love about this suburb:
Strong sense of community and family – our kids had “pseudo uncles and aunts” around providing support and guidance.
Banyule residents generally respect, appreciate and preserve the abundant greenery in the area.
15 min walk to Heide Museum.
Close proximity (walking distance) to Medical hub, train station, Warringal shopping centre, Leo’s Supermarket.
11km from city with easy access to Eastern freeway.
Unique to Walter Burley Griffiths estate residents, the private rear homestead park provides a safe area for children to play or kick a footy.
Nearby shopping centres (Doncaster Westfield, Northland).
Many sporting grounds and play grounds close by.
Why we are selling:
We built here thinking we would never leave! But the kids got older and aren’t generally home and it became too large. Also our original plan of parents moving into the self-contained downstairs apartment never eventuated. We purchased in Mount Martha last year and what was going to be a holiday home has now become our new home. Reluctantly we acknowledge that it is time for us to move on and for another younger family to hopefully experience the many happy years we have had here.
