Sixties Style meets Contemporary Class
Owners Notes
What we love about this home:
We purchased the property almost two years ago as we loved the renovation potential, classic 1950’s features, open plan living and fantastic outdoor entertaining space.
We have loved transforming the original home into an open plan entertainer with an improved layout and style that makes the most of every available space.
The large family kitchen was the first project we tackled, completely re-designing the layout and style to accommodate a modern, fully functional and beautifully welcoming space which has become the hub of the family unit.
The kitchen flows generously though to the dining and living area where extended family, friends and neighbours can be wined, dined and entertained, all whilst gazing at the beautiful original fireplace, hard wood flooring and character features of this renovated 1950’s property.
Throughout the year we have loved utilising the backyard’s entertaining area and bungalow space and on cooler nights friends and family do not hesitate to rug up and get cosy near the warmth of the firepit.
We have thoroughly enjoyed the home’s indoor/outdoor lifestyle with aspect of the house meaning it’s often filled with sunshine, providing natural light and warmth.
What we love about this suburb:
Reservoir has been an incredible place to live due to its extensive parklands, playgrounds and schools. The abundance of coffee shops, restaurants and local amenities make it easy to meet new people and make the most of the wonderful community. Lloyd Avenue is a quiet street, located close to the JC Donath Reserve and roughly 10 minutes walking distance to the local train station that provides direct access to multiple transport options. Local highlights such as the Preston Market, and Summerhill and Northlands shopping centres are conveniently close with Melbourne’s CBD reached by car in only 25 minutes.
Why we are selling:
We are expecting our first child in August and have decide to sell our home in Reservoir and purchase a property closer to family.
