Owners Notes
10 things we love about 12 May Street:
1. Merri Creek, Edinburgh Gardens and Princes Park – we love weekend walks and runs in these three parks. Merri Creek is 400 meters away and you can run, walk or cycle forever in both directions.
2. Lygon Street, High Street Northcote, North Fitzroy Village, Brunswick Street and Smith Street – all of these awesome neighbourhood high streets are so close!
3. May Street – quiet street with lovely neighbours of all sorts – lots of long time residents and friendly newcomers.
4. Al Fresco living – open the back doors on a sunny summer day and it is just a lovely private space for BBQ gatherings of friends and family (hot tub optional).
5. Mix of old and new – love walking into a classic Melbourne home with beautiful period details and then emerging into a comfortable modern and open living area and a house that is truly low maintenance with opportunities for expansion.
6. 96 or 11 take your pick – It is such a pleasure to walk out in either direction and be able to just hop on a tram to the CBD or into Fitzroy.
7. City cycling heaven – A quiet and safe commute or a long leisurely cruise up Merri Creek or around the Capital City Trial.
8. Merri Creek Primary and Northcote High – while we don’t have kids, it is so nice to walk out in the morning and see families and students walking to the two excellent schools down the street.
9. Coffee – This is Fitzroy North and we love our coffee. Mary Miller makes a lovely Flat White from Padre beans roasted a couple of kilometres from here. Eureka Coffee roasts lovely Single Origin just around the corner.
10. Our Roses – You can’t see them now but 12 May Street is blessed with roses in front (white) and back (red) that bloom over and over again for 8 months a year…and require no effort (we don’t even run the sprinkler system) except one pruning (and we can refer you to the greenthumb that does this for us)
That is a short summary of what we have loved about our home for the past 5 and a half years. We will miss it, but we aren’t moving far away.
