What we love about this home:
We built this house in 2015/16 and have loved its comfort and spaciousness with an open kitchen and living area that opens onto a completely private green courtyard, which is nice and sunny in the morning. We designed the courtyard to be low maintenance but with enough garden to play in and grow herbs.
This has been a wonderful house for our three children with nice big, light bedrooms and a ‘teenager wing’ that can be closed off from the living area. The second living area has given us extra flexibility and a restful place to retreat, study and read.
We also liked that the house was built to a 7-star energy efficiency rating with solar-aided hot water and a large water tank that is connected to the toilets and can be connected to the washing machine.
What we love about this suburb:
We love the parklands right outside our front door and easy access to Coburg Lake and the Merri Creek trail by foot or bike. This was one of the main drawcards. Having so much greenery but also access to cafes and shops in Preston and on Sydney Road is the best of both worlds. Woolworths a short walk up the road has been so convenient, and so is the proximity to Coburg High School and Newlands Primary. The community living in Coburg Hill is also very friendly and family-orientated making it a welcoming and safe place to call home.
