Owners Notes

The thing I like most about living here for the last 25 years is the charm, security and location. A hidden gem which gives little away from the front of the house. High ceilings, mantel pieces, charm and feel of past times and the ambience of the gas fire in the front room.

Location: Close to shops, Eastern freeway, public transport choices, many recreation activities, walking tracks. Wherever I go I am close to home, Kew being so central. I can easily live here without relying on my car.

What I love about the house: The privacy of all areas of the house and the courtyard, hydronic heating in winter, lots of light in each room and the double brick is cool in summer and courtyard can be shady with magnolia foliage. The size of the main bedroom, ensuite and wardrobe is fantastic as are the new curtains (recent indulgence). Neighbours are quiet and private yet there when you need them. Houses in the direct vicinity are all owner occupied.

Shopping: Walk to supermarkets, Toscanos, Cannings free range butcher, chemist, banks.

Good coffee nearby in Kew Junction-Via Verona, NnT. Willesmere Village in the other direction, improves all the time. Glenferrie Rd strip shopping and Lido cinema. Balwyn Cinema along Whitehorse Road.

Walks: 10 minute walk through Studley Park to reach The Boulevard. Near to home are the Yarra Trail, Anniversary Trail, Yarra Bend and La Trobe golf courses and Yarra River walks.

Transport: Kew Junction—Tram 48 to Balwyn / City / Docklands

109 Box Hill to Collins St and Port Melbourne.

Train... Hawthorn.... Burwood Rd near Power St

Bus 200, 207 on Princess St via Johnston St Collingwood, Lygon St Carlton then down Lonsdale St to Queen St CBD

Why I’m leaving: Recently retired from secondary teaching. 25 years living here so it’s time to move on by downsizing to 2 bed apartment locally.

Vendor Review

Turning fear into trust

At every level and throughout the major process, Nelson Alexander have been super professional. I was nervous to begin the process but soon realised I was in such good hands that I needed to surrender my trust to their expertise. It worked brilliantly and actually ended up being enjoyable and exciting. Thanks Nick and Sheree.
