Owners Notes

We have absolutely loved living in this beautiful home in the unbeatable location of Marwick St, Flemington. The walkability to everything makes life so easy. At one end of the street there is a convenient supermarket, bottle shop, florist and the 'Fox and Daisy' wine bar - a favourite amongst the locals. At the other end of the street, turn left and in 2 minutes you'll be at the Flemington Farmers Market, it runs every Sunday of the year and boasts the finest fresh produce from all over Victoria, breakfast, coffee, juice and baked goods. The cafe's on Pin Oak Crescent, Laksa King and Woolies at Newmarket Plaza are all a 7 minute walk away. Woolies have also just opened a sizeable Metro supermarket up on Mt. Alexander too. Nearby is The Ascot Lot, a relaxed open-air bar that is home to the best food trucks in town.

Around the corner is a tram stop with two tram lines, it's 15 minutes into the CBD. You have the choice of two train stations - Flemington Bridge or Newmarket - both about a 7 minute walk away and a few stops into the city. There is a carpark in the rear of the property, but if you prefer street parking there is always ample - in our seven years here we have never had an issue getting a park out the front. The house comes with up to three permits. For young families there is a choice of several childcare centres, kindergartens and Primary Schools, all a simple stroll away.

While the location is a prized feature of the property, the home itself is just gorgeous. It was renovated and restumped in 2007 by its previous owners, and since we moved in we have made a range of high-end cosmetic enhancements to this home including: modern bathroom renovation with heated floor and Astra Walker tapware. Marble bench tops were added in the kitchen, and we installed gorgeous bedroom robes and chandeliers in the front two rooms to compliment the period detailing of these stunning rooms. We added a new front verandah with decking and refurbished the exquisite crown lacework at the front to honour its original beauty. In 2018 we installed a new gas heating system and late last year we added the finishing touch of a brand new roof.

Even though the home is so close to everything, it's incredibly quiet and tranquil. Bask in the morning light in the living room while looking out across the garden with its backdrop of quaint chimneys and treetops and you'll be transported a world away from the hustle and bustle. It's a perfect sanctuary within one of Melbourne's coolest suburbs. We are going to miss the friendly atmosphere of Marwick St, it's a truly lovely neighbourhood, home to some of the most kind and amicable people we've met.
