Gordon Hope brings a strong client focus, passion for auctioneering and a wealth of local knowledge to his role at Nelson Alexander.
Having grown up, gone to school and worked in the Ivanhoe area for almost all of his life, Gordon is very familiar with the local attractions and amenities and it’s fair to say Ivanhoe is in his DNA.
Gordon honed his professionalism and disciplined work ethic at an early age, performing as an actor on stage and in TV commercials – including a stint as the boy in the Cottee’s Cordial advertisements. Gordon has utilised his theatrical skills, refined them and together with a deep and abiding passion has forged a reputation as one of Melbourne’s finest auctioneers, and has been fortunate enough to represent Victoria at the Australasian Auctioneering Championships. He has also been crowned the Senior Auctioneer for the Nelson Alexander office network for 2018 and 2019.
Gordon’s strengths lie in communicating effectively with people from all walks of life. His ability to relate and develop meaningful relationships is essential to building trust with his clients. Gordon believes, “every client is different and has different needs, so it is critical to tailor each relationship accordingly and provide a service which reflects those needs. There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ in real estate. I aim to put clients at ease and empower them throughout their selling experience with a heavy emphasis on communication.”
Away from the office, Gordon spends much of this time with his wife Maria, Max (golden retriever), and family and friends. Sport also plays a major role in Gordon’s life and when he isn’t fitting in a round of golf, he loves supporting his teammates from Old Ivanhoe Grammarians at Chelsworth Park.
