Owners Notes
What we love about this home:
We purchased this property 8 years ago because of the warm and inviting weatherboard home, with original hardwood floorboards throughout, its northerly rear aspect, its proximity to public transport, and proximity Broadway Shopping Centre and the Preston Market.
The large front yard has an established fruiting apricot tree, a nectarine tree, and a fertile vegetable patch, that has provided us with nourishing food for our family. The vegetable patch has also been a point of conversation with our neighbours.
Throughout the year the back-entertaining deck and garage space has often been used for entertaining family and friends. The private backyard has a large established fig tree, grown from a cutting from my grandmother’s house, and three established olive trees.
We have really enjoyed living an indoor/outdoor lifestyle in this house.
What we love about this suburb:
Reservoir has been a fantastic place to live with many parks and playgrounds (including Leslie Reserve, Norris Bank Reserve and Bundoora Park within walking distance), convenient access to Preston Market, and the Broadway and High Street shopping precincts, with diverse food and friendly people. Hickford Street is a quiet street and we've met amazing neighbours who we consider friends, and often spend time with. The 552-bus line, which takes you directly to Reservoir station, is within walking distance, providing easy access to multiple transport options. The city can be reached by car within 25 minutes.
Why we are selling:
We are moving to the Mornington Peninsula and have decided to sell in Reservoir to purchase a family home there.
