Owners Notes
What we love about this home:
We love the northern light that streams through the big glass doors in the lounge and the kitchen. The natural light not only feels great but helps to warm up the house too! We love the bright and calm feeling of the house with the white walls and natural wood. We love the period features, including the old fireplace.
Our garden has a bit of everything, including our very well nurtured (and prolific) lime and lemon trees! We love sitting out on the patio and enjoying food and drinks under the lights.
The work spaces, especially the studio, have been amazing. We can have 2 people working from home and not disturb the other. Both work spaces have lovely natural light and great views onto the garden.
We love the location - close to the city, right on the Capital City Trail and the Canning Street bike highway (we are keen bike riders). It has been great having access to a laneway. It’s perfect for bikes, gardening and making an early exit or late entry and not waking others.
We also love the warmth - the centralised split system works so efficiently and keeps the house cosy in the winter (and cool on those really hot days). And we love our induction oven and cooktop! Cooking is enjoyable, easy and fun (and very efficient).
What we love about this suburb:
Carlton North is such a great neighbourhood. It’s very close to the city, but still retains a village feel to it. There is a fantastic selection of shops on Nicholson Street- a fish shop, pasta shop, bakery, deli, butcher and some really great cafes! We also love going to the Rathdowne Street shops for a coffee or to the great bakeries in North Fitzroy (Loafer is our favourite)!
There is a very long list of things we love about our neighbourhood:
- our neighbours
- Curtain Square
- the many dog parks
- the playgrounds - there are so many within a short walk
- the bike paths
- the walkability
- the trees and open space
- the great sports facilities at Princes park and Edinburgh gardens.
Why we are selling:
We are only moving down the road to a slightly bigger house to accommodate our growing family. Luckily we aren’t moving neighbourhoods or schools. We have had many great memories in our house and have seen it evolve into the perfect home for our small family. We are sad to be selling!
