Contemporary space and elegance bordering Merri Creek
Owners Notes
The design
The height of the ceilings and the gorgeous tall doors! The architect David White’s use of light through high windows set in the walls which create the most amazing geometric light patterns on the walls – revealing the colours of sunrise and the patterns of leaves on the walls.
Every room has amazing wall and ceiling angles through clever use of design drawing on light from the windows change the appearance and effect from different vantage points.
The massive floor to ceiling doors that open out to the back patio extending the space even further and bringing outside in.
The downstairs space!
Huge bedroom and massive area has been such a boon for situating my office and having space to have friends to stay with virtually their own separate apartment.
The fruit bats
Watching the flight overhead of the 30,000 fruit bats from Yarra Bend Park in search of dinner each night is like having a nightly show which never ceases to thrill us!
The trains!
Yes the trains! We love the elevated track that seems to float in the air and watching life passing by. The trains are part of the colour and vibrancy of where we live and they are surprisingly quiet. Perhaps because they are electric and elevated. We love seeing them pass – Occasionally there is a steam train that comes past and blows its vintage steam horn which is so much fun!
Our proximity to Merri Creek!
Merri Creek is just behind our home and walking along the bike/walk track is a rewarding daily experience.
Our BC neighbours 8- 10a.
The 5 units are all owner occupied and are a terrific bunch – no one lives in each others pockets as everyone is busy, but we have a WhatsApp group and we meet for a drink a couple of times a year. We help each other out if we can. It’s good to know we have each other’s back if needs be.
