Mid century magic
Behind its solid 1950s brick façade, the home has been carefully refreshed while still honouring its era. Generous land and leafy outlooks create real opportunity, with scope to further renovate or extend, subject to Council approval, over time.
Its mid-century character carries beautifully through bright, inviting interiors where high ceilings and the original scale of each room are still on full display. An elevated terrazzo terrace makes a memorable entrance, opening to a wide entrance hall that immediately sets the tone for the home’s generous proportions.
Three impressively sized bedrooms with built-in robes, are served by an immaculate original bathroom with bath and shower. An expansive living room enjoys leafy outlooks and flows through to the formal dining room. The kitchen sits beyond, generous in size with a breakfast bar and adjoining family meals area.
At the rear of the home, a generous second living zone seamlessly extends to a sparkling in-ground pool, creating the ultimate retreat. Surrounded by lush, established gardens, this private oasis offers a serene and secluded setting for both relaxed family living and memorable entertaining.
The hand-tiled, kidney-shaped pool is a true centrepiece, complete with solar heating for extended seasonal enjoyment.
Extras include a remote garage with internal access, large home office with split-system heating and cooling, separate laundry, two toilets, storage, ducted heating, ceiling fans, water tank, automated irrigation system and garden lighting, alarm and security cameras.
In a premier position close to the village charm and cafés of Willsmere, with Kew Junction only moments away, the setting feels quietly convenient and well connected. Quality schools and parkland are close at hand, adding further appeal for families.

Owners Notes
What We Love About 8 Baker Avenue
From the moment we moved in, it was the light that captured us.
The house is filled with sunshine throughout the day, soft afternoon sun settling across the living spaces, and that golden glow in summer that makes the whole home feel warm and alive.
We love the leafy outlook from almost every room. There’s something incredibly calming about established trees, layered gardens and blue sky, while being only kilometres from the CBD. It is peaceful and private, yet completely connected.
The mid-century character gives the home real personality. The clean lines, generous windows and thoughtful proportions create spaces that feel welcoming.
And then there’s the pool.
The hand-tiled, kidney-shaped pool has been the backdrop to so many of our favourite memories. Long summer afternoons, kids swimming, impromptu evening dips when the day has been hot. It’s private, sheltered by greenery, and genuinely feels like your own little resort at home.
What We Love About East Kew
East Kew has an energy that is both refined and relaxed.
We love walking to Willsmere Village for everyday essentials, grabbing coffee at Ora or a quick shop at the IGA. We have enjoyed meeting friends for wine at Bar Carolina or a coffee at Westbrook café after Auskick at Victoria Park.
The Yarra walking trails are moments away, morning walks and bike rides by the river have become part of our weekly rhythm.
The area is also wonderfully family-focused, with kindergartens and local primary schools all close by. The leafy surrounds, wide streets and strong sense of community make it feel peaceful and established.
It’s close enough to the CBD for convenience, yet far enough away to feel like your own quiet sanctuary.
Why We’re Selling
We are simply outgrowing the home as our family grows. We are not leaving East Kew though. We’re staying locally because the community, the lifestyle and the village feel are hard to replicate.
