A period home with presence, polish and genuine soul.
Light-filled, the interior balances period character with modern ease. Three spacious bedrooms sit toward the front, two with built-in robes and one enhanced by custom shelving, all served by a central bathroom with shower over bath. To the rear, the extension adds versatility. A separate sitting room adds flexibility, while the attic studio above provides valuable extra space. A European laundry and stylish second bathroom with curved walk-in shower sit alongside.
The main living zone opens fully to the garden. Wrapped in floor-to-ceiling glazing, open plan dining and living spaces are filled with natural light and leafy outlooks, while a well-equipped kitchen centred around a large freestanding island bench connects the spaces with ease. Vaulted ceilings with highlight windows draw in northern sun. Outside, the private rear garden connects seamlessly with the open plan living area, extending the home to an alfresco area and garden beyond.
Includes off street parking, electric vehicle charging, solar panels, excellent storage, hydronic heating, split system heating and cooling, ceiling fans and more.
Walk to Lygon Street trams, bars and eateries, Nicholson Street, local parks, and enjoy zoning to Brunswick South Primary School and Princes Hill Secondary College.
Owners Notes
What we love about this home:
We love how bright the house is, filled with sun in Winter but shaded in Summer.
We love to entertain and the big island bench is the hub of the house. Our friends gather around it. We open the doors and make the most of the inside/outside connection.
Most of the house looks out to garden. We set up a bird bath and watch the birds have a play on a warm day. It drives our cat crazy.
At night the moon is sometimes visible through the highlight windows. It’s so quiet and calm.
We feel tucked away from the hustle and bustle of a busy city.
What we love about this suburb:
We can walk everywhere and do.
We love to meet our local friends for a walk around Princes Park most mornings. It’s a great way to start the day.
The new Coles at East Brunswick Village is just 10 minutes walk away and the wonderful Rumi Restaurant has a new venue there too.
We can pop up to Babbage on Lygon Street to grab some last minute groceries or just eat out at Bar Idda. We try not to Uber as it is quick to pick up great takeaway, just 5 minutes away, or just a Messina ice cream.
It’s so great to be so close to Lygon Street, we spend a lot of time there- shopping at Lygon Nursery, meeting friends for a drink at the Alderman, watching footy at The Quarry or eating pizza at 400 Gradi. Endless options.
Why are we selling:
We are downsizing and have secured an apartment just up the road so we don’t have to leave the area.
