What we love about this home:

This was our first home, so we have a real soft spot for it. Bought in 2014, we loved that it was brand new and, although a townhouse on a sub-divided block, had no body corporate and possessed its own number (not X/X Jenkin St). We love the natural light and clean, white look downstairs, which we further complemented by custom-made cabinetry. Every time somebody visited, they would comment what a stunning job we did! It’s nice to have a bit of outdoor space in your home, and the courtyard is the perfect size to put a table-and-chairs, barbecue, indulge your green thumb and still have room for a pet. There is also handy access to the clothesline and water tank from the garage/laundry door.

Upstairs, we love the ample wardrobe and shoe storage (as a result of our renovation), the main bedroom balcony which offers a peaceful view of the parkland opposite, and the awesome shower rose in the bathroom.

On a practical note, the house is very easy to keep clean, good for entertaining because of the open flow from backyard to front door (and the downstairs powder room!) and has two off-road car spots – otherwise the Gilbert Rd tram into the city is simply a 15-minute walk away.
We can’t forget to mention the parkland in front of the house. Walk down the little track and you’ll find yourself lost in a green oasis; you can even hear the trickle of water from the creek if you listen carefully.

What we love about this suburb:

What we love most about Coburg North is that it’s within 10km of the city but still so affordable. There is a lovely energy to the suburb, with lots of people from different backgrounds, and always something exciting going on. The dining hotspots of Lygon St and Sydney Rd are just a stone’s throw away; you have parks, lakes and the drive-in cinema nearby; and within walking distance, the supermarket and other amenities of Coburg Hill.

Why we are selling:

We have purchased a house in Kew, closer to my family, and after a few years’ renting out Coburg North, we have decided that now is the right time to sell it.
