What we love about this home:

We fell in love with the convenient layout and abundance of light that filled each room. It is a privilege to bring the outdoors inside by opening the bi-fold doors to extend our dining room onto the spotted gum timber decking: a great space for bbq-ing and entertaining family and friends. We used to hang our hammock and shade cloth during the warmer weather and simply relax with a cool drink in a private space of our own. We loved looking out on to the magnificent palm tree from the living room and master bedroom. We felt surrounded by nature. The kitchen provided a great entertaining/ breakfast bar and the architect designed bathroom also conveniently operated as an ensuite connected to the master bedroom. We really appreciated the extensive built in storage cupboards in each bedroom and beneath the stair to keep the house neat and tidy.

What we love about this suburb:

We often strolled to Lygon Street or Sydney Road and enjoyed a drink at one of the many quirky cafés and trendy bars. If we didn’t feel like cooking we would visit one of the many nearby restaurants practically on our doorstep. After work and during the weekends, we would walk to Princes Park to play tennis or go for a run around the park. We think the location is fantastic in so many ways: whether you want to walk or take the tram to the CBD, play golf at Royal Park, visit the Zoo or simply go out for a coffee or a meal, it is all within walking distance.

Why we are selling:

We never intended to sell. As such, the improvements made over the years were carried out with an attention to detail and a focus on high quality materials, including the stone and tile finishes in the kitchen and bathroom. The house has also been well maintained: the north-facing windows have been replaced recently with aluminum frames (low maintenance), the hot water service is less than five years old and the ducted heating replaced more recently. Unfortunately, due to work commitments we have moved elsewhere.
