What we love about this home:

When we first looked at homes in Preston 25 years ago we fell in love with the native trees and Merri Creek along Willow Street. We have spent many evenings on our secluded front deck listening to the birds settle and watching amazing sunsets.

During the 25 years in our street we have enjoyed the welcoming community feel and made friends with many neighbours. When the agent first took us into what became our home, we were blown away by the lounge area. It had such a large and enjoyable living area. And the height of the ceilings and big sash windows made the rooms feel so spacious.

Once we took the old carpets up to renovate our floors we discovered the home had the original golden Tasmanian Oak in all the rooms. Just beautiful. Our in-floor ducted gas heating has kept us snug on cold winter nights, while our reverse cycle air-conditioning has made those really hot nights more pleasant.

Over the years we have fed ourselves many healthy vegetables and fruit grown in our large back yard.

What we love about this suburb:
Living with Merri Creek across the street has been a real privilege – the natural vegetation and wildlife are such fantastic features of West Preston. The singing of birds is so joyful on sunrise walks along Merri Creek. We have made great use of the cycle tracks along the creek in West Preston. We love the convenience of public transport with two tram routes and buses an easy walk from Willow Street. We are well serviced with shopping centres and the amazing Preston Market. Gilbert and Murray Road precinct and Sydney Road restaurants are all so close.

Why we are selling:

We have spent many wonderful years in our home but it is now time to retire to a quiet location out of the city.
