Owners Notes

69 Cecil St has been our home for the past 8 years, and we’ve loved it as both a carefree young couple, and a growing family of four.

The location is superb, with easy access to the many benefits of inner north/city living – great cafes, restaurants and shops, exceptional parks/playgrounds, Fitzy pool, the Yarra trails and the CBD. Public transport is excellent, and the parking is good (3 permits). But why tram or drive when you can walk, push a pram, or ride a bike just about anywhere?!

Cecil St has a friendly and vibrant feel about it. It is very social – there is always someone ready to greet you as you stroll out your front door. The “Cecil Street village” would do anything for its residents; something that was especially helpful and comforting as parents of young kids (last minute babysitting or neighbourly play dates), and during the COVID lockdowns (even those who lived by themselves say they never really felt alone).

The house looks and feels great, but it’s also very functional. Everything works and it is very easy to maintain. The main renovation done by the previous owner (a structural engineer) was excellent, and we have continued to make further improvements (both cosmetic and functional) over the past 8 years, which we think have further improved the look, feel and liveability of the place.

Some of the things we love most about the house are the beautiful natural light (north facing, side windows and skylights); the kitchen, which has excellent bench and draw space; and the courtyard, which is a green oasis by day and a wonderful entertaining space in the evening. The house is much more spacious than you’d expect, with three generous bedrooms (the front would be a great home office too), a study area, two big bathrooms, lots of storage, no wasted space and a courtyard that functions as an extension of the living room.

It has been a truly wonderful home that has catered effortlessly to the changes in our lives. We have absolutely loved living here and are sure that you would love it just as much!
