What we love about this home:
We purchased this property 9 years ago as we loved that it was renovated sympathetically without losing its mid-century charm. The large windows and open plan living area made it feel spacious and the decorative ceilings were a beautiful, unique feature.
We have transformed the outdoor spaces by adding the large 3.5x7m covered deck, which can be used in all seasons and has a built-in storage box. 2 garden sheds add to the storage options. The backyard is secure and safe for pets. We love spending time in the native front garden when we want to relax and connect with passers-by. We have a wide range of fruit trees including apple, plum, pear, pomegranate, apricot, peach, nectarine, lemon, and fig. Berries grow up the lattice fencing around the large vegie patch. The garden paths give the backyard a landscaped feel and year round accessibility. The front and back gardens are well established and provide a green outlook from all windows of the house.
The house is comfortable to live in as it is well insulated and has multiple heating options (fireplace, split systems, and gas ducted heating). As the house has solar panels, when using the split systems the heating and cooling costs are significantly less than other homes.
Security doors, fencing, fenced side access, and an alarm system are added safety features.
What we love about this suburb:
Reservoir has been a fantastic place to live with heaps of parks and playgrounds, handy shops and friendly people. Cuthbert Road is convenient as it is close to many amenities but doesn’t have the traffic noise that busier roads have. Buses and trains are both within short walking distance, and the new Summerhill Shopping Centre is conveniently close. Despite being in central Reservoir, tranquil spaces like the Darebin Creek and Edwardes Lake are close by.
