Owners Notes

What we love about this home:

We love how well our major renovation and extension came out. Our aim when we started the extension and renovation planning with the architect 2.5 years was to have a spacious home where we could entertain friends and family and where we never had to be cold in winter or too hot in summer.

We also love that the original Federation style of the house is kept as much as possible such as the many fireplaces and the fretwork in the hallway. We thought it was going to be a straight forward renovation but due to Covid restrictions and shortages as well as soaring cost of building material, it took a lot longer than expected.

The back part of the house had to be demolished and rebuilt but the front section received new walls, floors , heating and cooling, ceilings and windows but kept to the heritage requirements. A few family members who lived in the house before us from the 1950's for 65 plus years have come past and are thrilled of how nice it looks. They told us stories about many happy memories with two busy Italian families sharing the home.

What we love about this suburb:
The neighbourhood is incredibly friendly. We often have neighbours walking past for a friendly chat. Everything is at our fingertips; We walk to restaurants / cafe's and shops - no need to take the car. The tram and the train are a few minute walk away and the Merri Creek bike trail is also really close.

Why we are selling:

Our adult daughters and grandchild are moving to Brisbane - we want to be close to them.
