Sensational space in a premier position

Tucked away in the Miller Park community with its delightful gardens and secure surrounds, this remarkable double-storey townhouse delivers an enviable inner-urban lifestyle of family proportions.

Impeccably presented, the home's cavernous interior boasts four large bedrooms (three with built-in robes) complemented by two stylish bathrooms - one with bathtub, both with granite-top vanities. Adding to the allure is a study/retreat (upstairs) and simply enormous open living/dining area with double-height ceilings adjoined by a modern stone-bench kitchen with breakfast bar, soft-close cabinetry, quality cooking appliances and double dishwasher. Other stand-out features include split-system heating/cooling, new carpets and internal laundry facilities, plus a spacious backyard garden with paved entertaining area, secure entrance with intercom and two undercover parking spaces.

Cafes and trams around the corner on Nicholson Street, it's also close to the East Brunswick Village retail precinct and popular schools (zoned to Merri Creek PS and Northcote HS) along with local parks and endless Merri Creek trails.

Owners Notes

What we love about this home:

BEAUTIFUL SPACES: We love the double-height ceiling in the living area that gives the townhouse a warehouse vibe and sense of space. We enjoy the green outlook of a well-maintained garden that is cool and shady in summer and open and light in winter when the birch trees lose their leaves. The body corporate maintains these gardens for us so there is no need for a mower! The four bedrooms mean everyone gets their own space, and the upstairs landing is great for working from home.

COMFORTABLE IN ALL SEASONS: The townhouse is incredibly well insulated and maintains a stable temperature all year round with minimal need for heating and cooling (although we have both in the efficient split system). The private rear courtyard is a lovely place to hang out for coffee, drinks or dinner, or to play with the kids. We had, at various times, a basketball ring, sandpit, paddling pool and productive veggie garden out here! We installed quality shade awnings to keep the sun out in summer and the double-glazed doors to the courtyard keep the bedrooms warm in winter.

What we love about Miller Park:

A SAFE, FRIENDLY COMMUNITY: We lived here for four years with two primary school-aged children and a cat. When you come through the glass doors of the complex, there is a sense of serenity and community. Our whole family made friends here. The children played safely in the communal gardens. After school, there was always a friend to visit, and the kids had so much fun. There is a great mix of ages living here, from retirees to young families and young professionals. There’s always someone around if you need help or to borrow something, but you can also choose to keep it at a friendly hello when coming and going.

GREAT LOCAL AMENITIES: We are within easy walking distance to lovely parks, MerriCreek, great cafes (Mary Miller is a favourite) great shopping (Coles and Wholefoods), restaurants (Rumi) and the cinema at East Brunswick Village. We are zoned for Northcote High School, close to numerous great primary schools and we originally moved here for the bilingual childcare centre on Barkly Street.

TRANSPORT OPTIONS: You’re in the city in 10 minutes on the 96 tram, which is right outside the front door, or stay on it to St Kilda Beach! The Miller St bus takes you across to Sydney Rd in a jiffy, and there are great cycling routes nearby (Park St, Canning St, Merri Creek). We have two secure, covered off-street car spaces – great for when you have visitors or need extra parking for numerous bikes, as we did! We went out in the city a lot while living here because it was just so quick and convenient to get there.
