I bought this house in 2011, after discovering the hidden secrets of Clifton Hill; ‘green’ river walks, multiple parklands, great bike riding tracks, wonderful coffee shops, proximity to the city and its amazing community spirit.
The house itself was solid and totally liveable with all the special features of an 1895 property – ornate high ceilings, fireplaces and original floorboards. Over the past 13 years, I believe that I have added to its appeal – new carpets, paint work, ducted heating, new kitchen, laundry and bathroom and greenery to the back courtyard.
Amazing what a $5.00 pot plant can achieve! Rarely do I walk my dog without a chat with neighbours. So why am I leaving? I ask myself this every day! Simply, I need something a little bigger to accommodate my growing family of grandchildren.
I will miss this house and all my neighbours and just hope that I can find something just a little larger in the Clifton Hill neighbourhood!
