What we love about this home

There’s so much natural light that you feel warmth and space as soon as you walk in the door. We especially love the flow of the house starting with the large entrance to welcome family and friends, through to the large open plan – perfect for entertaining family and friends (we easily fit 25 guests for Christmas!) – yet small enough that we can enjoy each other’s company as we cook, chat and eat around the kitchen bench, or play games at the dining table, or plonk ourselves in front of the TV after a long day.

And then on those beautiful balmy evenings, open up the back extending the living space outside, letting the fresh breeze flow into the house while enjoying our backyard oasis…all without the fuss of mowing the lawn.  Or close everything up on those cold winter nights to enjoy the warmth of the house. We also love that there are separate areas available for brooding teenagers, grumpy relatives, or if we just want some quiet time.

There are also many little ‘treats’ that are not obvious to the eye – sliding screen doors, soft closing drawers, abundant storage under the kitchen bench top, ducted vacuum, and bathroom tiles that are easy to keep clean. The house is so well built and well insulated that our utility bills have come down notably and we have peace of mind knowing that the property is covered under builder’s warranty and it will be decades before any maintenance is required.

What we love about this suburb

We were long term residents of the Bayside area, but found ourselves gravitating towards the Northern suburbs’ better variety of cafes/restaurants (important for Foodies like us!), diverse shops and ‘organic’ lifestyle. The decision to buy property in Regent was a no-brainer for us.

Location is perfect: quiet, safe cul-de-sac with lovely neighbours and the Regent train station (30-minute ride to CBD), Gilbert Road tram stop, Reservoir West Primary School, parks, great selection of cafes, Yoga/Pilates classes, and shops all within 600-meter walk from the house.

Why we are selling

This was going to be our ‘forever home’… but life throws a curve ball sometimes, and we couldn’t pass up the adventure of living overseas (before we get too old!) which sadly meant we need to let go of this secret gem of a property.
