Emma Trethowan at Nelson Alexander, my saviour!
Emma Trethowan at Nelson Alexander was the best tenancy manager at the worst time. In the future if I come across a tenancy under her management I will strongly consider residing there simply due to her fantastic support I experienced.
-Communication: Emma always returned calls and emails within 24 hours of receiving a message, she was clear and very pleasant to talk with.
-Collaborative approach: Emma's working emphasis on a strong tenant rapport meant that myself and my cotenant had full trust in her advice, furthermore this meant that in times of 'opposing forces' between tenant and landlord Emma quickly found agreement on both sides.
-Effective: Virtually all issues that needed addressing Emma was on top of the task immediately.
My Story:
In short, I moved into a tenancy without fully knowing my co-tenant.
Due to reasons not explained to me by my co-tenant before moving in, I found myself constantly dealing with my co-tenants erratic behaviour, to the extent that I close friends had messaged me stating that my roomate was contacting them on Facebook and making concerning allegations about me. She was paranoid, manipulative and potentially dangerous.
At this point I knew I had to leave but in a way that did not prompt worse behaviour from her. This is where Emma comes in. I called Emma to discuss my situation, to my complete surprise she was a fantastic listener- then provided me fantastic advice about my tenancy rights! Together we even made a plan how I was to announce to my roommate I was leaving and then ensure that my bond was not sabotaged by her once I left. If not for Emma there is a very good chance I would have still be dealing with my roommate after leaving.
