Owners Notes

When we first started looking for a home together, we wanted easy access to the city (driving and public transport), to be close to bike paths and trails and to have cafes, bars and restaurants nearby.  We also wanted a quiet street with a neighbourhood feel.  While, at the time, we didn’t know much about Coburg, we found all of those things in Younger Street.  We really like living in the inner-north.

As the house was fairly old and worn when we bought it, we spent the first few years freshening it up and creating a really open and bright living area.  With Matt being a chef for nearly 20 years, we LOVE entertaining and what we have created is absolutely perfect for that – it’s cosy inside in the cooler months and opening the bi-fold doors out to the back area in summer has been perfect.  The challenge is that we can’t get rid of people at the end of the night!

Matt also really enjoys gardening – the simple and lush garden is super easy to maintain.  The other thing that was important to us was storage (we don’t like clutter!) so we have been very purposeful in making sure that all space is fully utilised in and out of the house.

We are only moving to be closer to Elissa’s family and it is a regrettable move as we love our home.  We hope that it makes its next owner as happy as it has made us.

Persistence and support have paid off    

Sincere thanks to Dee and Steve at Nelson Alexander Coburg for their help in finding us our new home in Coburg. Not only did they introduce us to the property (for which they were not the listing agents), for over a year beforehand, they had maintained contact with us to let us know when properties in the local area (of which they have an excellent knowledge) that met our criteria were listed and open for viewing. They were as keen to find us a property as we were to buy one....and they were highly professional in doing so. So often we dealt with agents who said "I'll keep you in mind" or "I'll let you know when something comes up" and unsurprisingly we never heard from them again.
