Comprehensively renovated with an eye for timeless designer style and a sensitivity to its original period character, this circa 1905 home is from the cusp of the Victorian and Edwardian eras, presenting beautifully proportioned spaces that are suited both to family life and al fresco entertaining. Towering ceilings, light from all directions, a commitment to quality appointments and a relaxed indoor-outdoor flow ensure that the home is a superb showpiece within metres of Warringal shops, cafes, restaurants and Heidelberg Railway Station.
Contemporary plantation shutters, ducted heating and evaporative cooling sit tastefully alongside the home's original towering ceilings, fine detail and traditional fire places in a symphony of respectfully preserved period charm.
Impressively sized, with a suite of Miele and Ilve appliances and warmed by a wood fire burner, the open-plan highlights double doors that lead to a huge deck where an outdoor kitchen and the most spectacular views to east are certain to captivate home entertainers. This is a setting your guests will never want to leave!
Each of the bedrooms is particularly generous - the front 2 with designer ensuites, great robe storage, fire places and a bay window. Meanwhile, the 3rd bedroom is conveniently adjacent to the main family bathroom.
Additional highlights include a front carport, rear under-house parking and secure driveway parking for another 2 vehicles at the back, as well as a powder room and a rare attention to detail.
Just wander down the street to immerse yourself in the village-like charms of Burgundy St, where the cafes, restaurants and Warringal shops add colour to your life, plus you have first class local schools, great natural walks around the Yarra River's parkland and easy city access via Heidelberg Railway Station which is comfortably walkable. Notes from the owner:

What we love about our home.
We have loved living in this home. We have lived here for a period of 25 years. This is where we raised both our children. In recent years we added an en-suite to the main bedroom and then another to our sons' room, as he became a teenager and both children had their own bathroom this was a blessing. Both our children are now living out of home so we are moving on to the next phase of our life. Whilst living here most mornings we sit outside on the decking for a coffee before going to work as the view is spectacular, especially very early morning sunrises. The colours in the sky are beautiful. The gardens and lawns are easy to maintain and provide an abundance of bird life. Even from the kitchen/meals/living room we always have that view to admire any time of the day/night. I think this is what we will miss the most. We love being able to use the outdoor rear deck for entertaining and special family events. Having an outdoor kitchen with hot/cold water makes it easy for cleaning up after BBQ's and great for food preparation. Although this house is well over 100 years old and we love the period features it holds it also has many modern amenities which brings it up to today's living standards.

What we love about the suburb
Heidelberg is full of character architecture and history. Heidelberg offers a village like atmosphere. With all the cafes and restaurants, you could eat out every night if you wanted to. Being able to walk everywhere and not have to get the car out is such a bonus. The proximity to the station, schools, shops and hospitals is a real plus. A short bus ride to either Northland or Doncaster Shopping Town or the train to the city. Heidelberg has an abundance of beautiful trees, parks and walking/bike tracks, that there is always something to do and see.

Why are we selling
We are at a stage in our life where we are now on our own as both our children have moved out of home. We are looking at retirement, perhaps a sea change. Who knows!
