Owners Notes

We really love our home and it's with a heavy heart that we decided to sell, but that's what happens when you decide to move to the other side of the globe. We're really going to miss walking around our area, down Rathdowne St on Monday nights to Nova or strolling to different bars down Lygon St. We loved feeling like we were in the city, without feeling like we were in the city... does that make any sense? The 3 villas on the block and the neighbouring 2 townhouses are all owner occupied, so we've managed to get to know each other a little over the years - we're going to miss them too.

Since owning the home, we've renovated the bathroom, improved the kitchen, added a bathroom and kitchenette to the studio/garage (this became a home office and a great guest bedroom when family stayed with us), added solar panels, water tank and insulation in the ceiling. We never bothered getting air-con, not only due to its environmental impact, but also because the home is double brick and stays really cool in summer.

We also purchased the piece of land that is now our garden form the council and completely transformed it. What used to be there was a mess hiding under 6 pine trees. We had the trees removed, put down grass, added several planter boxes made from untreated sleepers and a shed. This might be what we'll miss the most - our garden and being able to have people in it on a nice day. It was our little oasis in the inner city. We planted the lemon tree not so long ago and it started bearing fruit just before we left, so the lucky buyer will get to enjoy it.
