Owners Notes

We moved into our home 12 years ago and have had a wonderful time raising our family here. Moving from a small townhouse in Fitzroy, we immediately fell in love with the green space that surrounds us here. Alphington Park, Alphington Wetlands and the Yarra River walking tracks are a 5 minute walk away. The expansive Darebin Parklands and Darebin Creek cycling and walking tracks are 10 minutes walk away, just past the Alphington Farmer's Market. The Alphington community is a warm and inclusive one - we've loved being part of the local kinder and primary school communities.

We renovated the kitchen and living areas about 7 years ago with the help of well known interior designer, Tonya Hinde. Her work here was featured in a Herald Sun Home magazine. We adore the Cantilever kitchen and the open, light filled living areas. The desk facing the courtyard is a great spot for the kids to do their homework - we can supervise, while preparing dinner. The study is a bright, airy space to work from home in - and we love opening up the French doors to the courtyard, to work alfresco. We've also previously used the space as a guest room; it comfortably accommodates a queen bed, bedsides and dresser. The rear study / rumpus space is fantastic for the kids to escape into with friends - and has provided a very welcome extra office space during lockdown - giving us all plenty of room to spread out.

The garden is low maintenance and relaxing - it's a green oasis in spring and summer, with the leafy mulberry tree offering beautiful shade over many happy BBQs on the deck and games on the lawn. The nectarine and pear trees deliver great harvests too!

There are amazing dining options within walking distance - with Benjamin's Kitchen and The Alphington Social only 5 minutes walk - and PavQueen, the Alphington Foodstore, Mr Wednesday and Kissaten cafes all within a 10-15 minute walk. Not to mention the many cafes, restaurants, shops and local library in Fairfield Village, which are a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk away. We really are spoiled for choice here. The Alphington train station is an easy 10 minute walk, with a 20 minute express train on the Hurstbridge Line into the city.

We have really loved living in this home and have created many happy memories here. We feel certain that whoever is lucky enough to call it home next will enjoy it as much as we have.
