What we love about this home:

The main reasons behind our purchase of 20 Greenbank Crescent in the 1970’s were the wonderful, fascinating views across the valley, and the sound structural base of the building. It also provided us with the opportunity to further develop the building and garden to suit our needs. We employed the renowned architect, Greg Burgess AM, to assist with the building design, and eminent Melbourne landscaper, Stuart Mayhew, to plan the layout of the front garden. We enjoyed the opportunity to work with these people and were amazed at the result of their work. Natural light streams through the well-placed windows and greenery is evident everywhere. The tower stairwell is a highlight, both beautiful and workable. We have lived in this home for 47 very happy years and have worked hard to improve and maintain the property to the standard that we enjoy. Our family has thoroughly enjoyed living at 20 Greenbank Crescent, Pascoe Vale South. It has been a wonderful home for us, our sons, and our grandchildren. The house and view are interesting, practical, and versatile. Working from home would be easily accommodated. Having guests stay downstairs is easy with the separate bedrooms and bathroom available. Living here has been a large and enjoyable part of our lives, and we hope that the next owners have a happy time in 20 Greenbank Crescent as well.

What we love about this suburb:

Pascoe Vale South is the suburb in which I grew up. My wife was born in Canada, came to Melbourne to a teaching position, and stayed. Easy access to the airport is very important to us and this area provides that. The suburb offers all that we ever required. Our children and grandchildren now live in Pascoe Vale South. As secondary school teachers, accessing good schools has been a high priority for us, and we found that Pascoe Vale South PS and Strathmore Secondary College met those needs. Other schools are within easy travelling distance too. My wife and I have interests in local organisations, including sporting clubs, craft groups, and neighbourhood houses, among others. We have easy access to the CBD via Citylink, a 5-minute walk to the Moonee Ponds Creek Bicycle/walking track, Brearley Reserve, access to train, tram and bus lines, and a good range of shopping outlets.

Why we are selling:

We intend to remain in the area, having recently purchased a new home locally. The time is right for us to downsize, but we will maintain our family and social contacts in Pascoe Vale South.
