A Privileged Parkside Position
Owners Notes
We left our home of 25 years in Woodend, Victoria, after our 4 children completed their secondary education at Braemar College and were then enrolled in various courses in Melbourne. It made sense to relocate to Melbourne. Brookhouse was the ideal home for us. The house was on one level, had character and personality! With the open fireplaces, double brick, timber floors and beautiful selection of wallpaper, attention to detail of the doors, wardrobes, and the back garden, with covered BBQ and spa, we knew we would all enjoy living at Brookhouse.
With the choices of train, tram or bus, and within 20 minutes to Tullamarine Airport, our busy and social family were able to become independent of us, and also us of them! Fantastic!
Having Queens Park at our front door, during the afternoons, we often sat and viewed many weddings, picnickers, joggers etc by sitting on the front verandah. Using the car became a rarity, as we would use a shopping trolley and enjoy the walk through the park and shop at the many choices of Supermarkets; Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, as well as the various other stall holders at Moonee Central. We will miss our early morning swim at the Queens Park swimming pool, as it was like having our own pool, without the maintenance!
Our five grandchildren have all been able to call Brookhouse their second home. As grandparents, we enjoyed them playing in our gardens, knowing they were safe and secure. We attended the many theatre shows and concerts held at the Clocktower Theatre, as well as the various festivals and events such as Christmas Carols in the Park.
More importantly, we will miss having our impromptu “pizzas in the park” with all the family. The Christmas Day afternoon cricket match will be hard to replace!
