What we love about this home:
As first home buyers, we purchased the property four years ago. Although it is an apartment, it has the features of a unit; a north facing private courtyard offering plenty of light and the convenience of two bathrooms, including a bath, things we valued as a young family. The open plan living area also provided enough space for lounge and dining areas. The adjoining communal courtyard to our own courtyard offered the opportunity to garden and create our own oasis in the city. Accessed directly by only seven of the apartments in the complex, this outdoor space was a savior during the COVID lockdowns. We enjoyed spending time entertaining in the warmer months and sharing the space with our friendly neighbours. With the apartment situated at the rear of the block, away from the main road, we had the benefits of quiet living but with the convenience of having public transport on our doorstep.
What we love about this suburb:
Reservoir has been a fantastic place to live with heaps of parks and playgrounds, interesting food and friendly people. The tram is right outside and there are multiple bus routes running close by. The train is a 15-minute walk away and the city is only 25 minutes away by car. The Summer Hill Shopping Centre is conveniently close as is the Tyler St corner with trendy bars, cafes and restaurants. Broadway and Edwardes St shopping strips are both close by and several gyms are conveniently located within close proximity, including the Reservoir Leisure Centre.
Why we are selling:
Our daughter has grown up going to school in the Coburg area, so in preparation for her high school years we have reluctantly decided to sell to maximize the chance for a home within the school zone in this district.
