Owners Notes

We have lived here for twelve very happy years. Back in 2011, we were looking for a single storey house, in Parkville, and there are precious few single storey houses in this tiny suburb. We felt so lucky to have bought it!

The house has exceptionally big rooms, high ceilings and the most beautiful chandeliers. It has storage everywhere and the laundry and kitchen work particularly well.

Living in Park Drive has enabled my husband to be able to walk to his work at a nearby hospital, saving many precious hours that would otherwise be spent driving in traffic. And it is a joy to be able to regularly walk through the university to the restaurants and cinemas in Lygon Street. In the very next street to Park Drive one can relax over great coffee, breakfast, and lunch at Café Piccolina. Further up Morrah Street is Naughton’s Hotel offering lunches, dinner, great wines, and beers. Not bad for a suburb of only ten streets!

We have a dog and the nearby Royal Park and Princes Park provide so many walking and running opportunities for him and for us.

  • The house has only one neighbour, on the Story Street side to the East.
  • The area is amazingly quiet.
  • The formal front corner room was used as a bedroom for six years by our son while he was studying at Melbourne University. It is now a lovely room for entertaining but could easily be converted back to a bedroom.
  • The house enjoys great light, with all the living rooms facing North and West.
  • The garden is low maintenance and has a sprinkler system. We often use the deck as an extra eating area in summer.
  • Over the last twelve years the house has been meticulously maintained. It works as a warm and comfortable home.
