Interior Trends For 2022 With Kip&Co

2 min read

It's been fascinating to see how the past two years' events have shifted trends in interiors. A space that provides liveability whilst providing comfort and joy are at the top of the criteria.

Launched in Melbourne in 2012, Kip&Co was founded by sisters Kate Heppell and Hayley Pannekoecke and best buddy Alex McCabe. What started as a bright, colourful bedding brand quickly expanded into a vibrant lifestyle concept with a cult following. The girls brought their fun and stylish aesthetic to apparel and homewares for every corner of the home and every family member. Now with a global following, Kip&Co continues to be inspired by the girls’ simple passion for joy, laughter and the colour of life.

Here are 4 key trends from our friends at Kip&Co for 2022 and how to bring them into your Melbourne home:

1 | Floral
Fresh and mood-lifting florals are having a big moment! We love florals because their softer style makes them easier to layer print on print. If you’re looking to dip your toe in the water, try our 'Velvet Petal' and 'Monstera' cushions to add a pop of floral to your couch. For the entertainers, brighten your kitchen with our 'Abundance Floral' table linen (for those dinner parties we've all been missing)! If you're looking for an investment piece, try our buttery soft French Flax linen bedding in the season's most popular print, 'Peony Sage'.

2 | Tartan

Grandmillennial is huge right now and shows no signs of slowing down. One of the key components of Grandmillennial is Tartan - it’s a nod to British interiors and a classic that plays well with any print; what’s not to love?! If you’re short on space, grab our 'Desert Vista' waffle towel, which is super absorbent and compact for small linen cupboards. For the adventurous, get the 'Rose Sugar Tartan' red and white throw to layer up, and for those who are looking for a keepsake, invest in the 'Skyline Tartan' French Flax linen gingham bedding; a personal fave at Kip&Co HQ!

3 | Maximalism

Maximalism has been thrown back in the spotlight by our second key trend Grandmillennial. The antidote to Scandi styling and our all-time favourite trend (and just generally better for your soul), Maximalism means more is more. Be brave! Try a novelty bath mat to match your fluffy slippers, or get your guilt-free bedding hit with our all-new organic bedding range. Last but not least, find the perfect tassel throw to be the cherry on top of your bed.

4 | Texture

Layering up isn’t just for the colder months; adding texture adds interest, comfort and softens a space. Embrace texture at budget with our cotton canvas bean bags, wool shag cushions and jute floor mats, or add a beautiful textural wool rug to your home for a splurge.
