Owners Notes
The city views will never escape our memory. Sitting in the dining area on a summer evening
sipping champagne watching Melbourne’s lights glitter is just spectacular and easily our favourite
part about living here. You have that sense of being on a city vacation but with every comfort of
home. There is an intimate rustic charm about the building itself and it has been such a great
place to call home.
There’s a bit of history to this apartment. It was part of the Henry B. Smith Wool Store est. 1930,
we have made some improvements to it since our purchase in 2001, but we have always aimed
to retain as much of the character and original features as possible such as the rustic brick wall in
the master bedroom. The timber floor throughout the apartment has been restored and the
bathrooms updated.
Being within walking distance to absolutely everything we need and enjoy in our lives is a real
sweetener. The location makes this home everything. Some of Melbourne’s best cafes are
moments away, our favourites being; The Apollo, The Auction Rooms and The Roasting
Warehouse. We also enjoy popping down to Akita, a local hidden gem, serving traditional
Japanese dishes. Plus, the fresh produce and delicacies of the Victoria Market are a handy stroll
away for groceries or weekend breakfasts. Catching up with friends and family at Errol Street
Village takes no time and for nights out, the Crown Precinct and Marvel Stadium aren't far either.
Working in the CBD means living here is barely a commute, offering that sought after work-life
balance, even if there is a need to stay back late. When travelling or if we have visitors stay the
proximity to Tullamarine Airport is a bonus. Of course, the surrounds boast excellent schools and
universities for families, and the Royal Melbourne, Womens and Childrens Hospitals are very close.
We will be sad to say goodbye.
