Owners Notes

What we love about this home:

Buying this home 22 years ago we saw the potential: it was quirky and loveable with its split level and 1950s features, although not in good condition. We renovated to retain the original character and add our own vibe. We’ve created a home that’s comfortable and aesthetically appealing to us. We hope others love it, too. The garden is a joy! From a bleak scene of grass and shrubs, we transformed it into a wonderland that attracts frequent comments from passersby and visitors. We love having people over with our backyard excellent for entertaining. Our cats are important to us, so the enclosure is a feature we value highly, too.

What we love about this suburb:

This pocket of Brunswick West is blissfully quiet with our street sheltered from main roads. We have wonderful neighbours who are friendly and generous: lots of people stop to chat. Parks and sportsgrounds in the area meant that our son had plenty of options for play and joining teams from birth to adulthood. The Inner North of Melbourne is our kind of place: cafes, bars, interesting shops. The wonderful Sydney Road isn’t far (walk or catch a bus) and the immediate area has developed over the years with cool bars and restaurants on Melville Road.

Why we are selling:

Our son is about to finish his schooling and we decided it was time to downsize. We never expected to sell this house, so it is a real wrench to leave it but we came across an interesting opportunity not far away in Brunswick East. We’ll still get to enjoy the wonderful things that Brunswick has to offer, just from the other side of Sydney Road.

Vendor Review

Selling a house you’ve nurtured and…

Selling a house you’ve nurtured and loved for over twenty years is a difficult and emotional process for many people, and we count ourselves among them. Luckily we had the wonderful Janine Ballantyne from Nelson Alexander guide us. All elements of the advertising materials were produced by consummate professionals in their own fields (eg. photography, copy writing, videography) and made our home shine its brightest. Janine and her team kept us informed every step of the way and they ensured as quick and as painless a sale as possible. We highly recommend Janine and her agency in Carlton North to anyone looking to sell their home in the inner north.
