We moved into our wonderful home 8 years ago and have absolutely loved our time here. We needed a home for our growing family, something close to great schools and kinders, close to a park, an easy walk to trains and buses, cycling distance to the city for work, on a quiet street with space for a veggie garden… the list went on! We had a huge wish-list and 30 View St ticked all the boxes.

We are in one of the greenest parts of Melbourne, literally surrounded by parkland. This is something we have cherished, particularly during the pandemic. All our children’s birthday parties have been held in the park directly across the road, where we often set up a slip-n-slide on hot days or just enjoy the newly upgraded playground. With the Yarra River at the end of the road we have also enjoyed many sunny days kayaking with the kids – upstream through the golf courses or downstream through the bat colony at Yarra Bend park. The area is also intersected by plenty of great bike and walking trails through Darebin parklands, Yarra trails, Yarra Bend and more.

There is an incredibly strong community in this tightly held pocket. From summer evenings at the bowls club, soccer club fireworks night, street Christmas parties, the wetlands festival, the local farmer’s market… it’s impossible not to be connected with this great group of neighbours. We often feed each other’s pets and share garden produce.

We have enjoyed being close to the Eastern freeway for quick getaways to the Mornington Peninsula possible in under an hour. Local sports clubs couldn’t be closer with Cricket and Soccer clubs based literally across the road. We are also spoilt for choice with shops and cafes – with Station St Fairfield and Ivanhoe shops both close by along with Alphington gems like Alphington Social and Benjamin’s Kitchen.

The house has great natural light year-round, both upstairs and down, and we have loved the privacy of our backyard with the cooling shaded lawn during the summer.
