One home, four sales and sixteen years of trust: A look at 75 Palmer Street’s remarkable journey

3 min read

In real estate, most agents might sell the same home once in their careers.

For Mark Verrocchi from Nelson Alexander Ivanhoe, this Fitzroy property has become part of a much bigger story.

Over the past 16 years, Mark has sold the same home four separate times, guiding it through changing markets, different owners and entirely different chapters of life.

The warehouse conversion is located moments from Brunswick Street in the heart of Fitzroy.

The history of Palmer Street

The story began in May 2015, when Mark sold the property for $1,295,000 to former AFL footballer Ben Stratton, with Luke Chisholm from Nelson Alexander Fitzroy leading the listing campaign at the time of the sale.

Five years later, in the middle of Melbourne’s lockdowns, Mark once again sold the home on Ben’s behalf in August 2020 for $1,525,000. At the time, Ben was captain of the Hawthorn Football Club, with the campaign attracting media attention after the auction shifted from a traditional public auction to an online virtual auction due to lockdown restrictions at the time.

The home was purchased by Nick Thomm, the internationally recognised Los Angeles-based artist known for his bold pop-art style and large-scale works.

Previously owned by former AFL player Ben Stratton and artist Nick Thomm, 75 Palmer Street is rich with history.

In October 2023, Mark facilitated the sale of the property once again, continuing a long-running connection with the home and its evolving story.

And now, in May 2026, the property has changed hands once more.

Sold quietly off market for $1.9 million to a local Fitzroy couple, the campaign came together through strong local relationships and Nelson Alexander’s connected network, with the buyer introduced by Isabelle McEwan-Marion from Nelson Alexander Fitzroy.

How collaboration led to an off market success

For Mark, the result represents more than another sale.

It’s a reminder that real estate is ultimately built on long-term relationships, trust and staying connected with people well beyond the transaction itself.

The recent off market sale came together through Nelson Alexander’s connected network and shared buyer database.

The result also highlights the strength of Nelson Alexander’s collaborative network, where offices work closely together and share buyer databases across Melbourne. This approach often allows properties to be matched with qualified buyers before ever reaching the public market, creating strong off market opportunities for both sellers and buyers alike.

In this case, those relationships, connections and collaboration helped deliver yet another successful result – continuing the story of a home that has now changed hands four times through the Nelson Alexander network.

And as 75 Palmer Street begins its next chapter with new owners, it remains a residence whose story Nelson Alexander has been proud to be part of for more than 16 years.
